Jordan Kassoff, M.D.
Dr. Kassoff is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist and eye surgeon specializing in Cornea and Refractive Surgery. He received his undergraduate degree from Cornell University and his medical degree form Albany Medical College. Following his Ophthalmology residency at Albany Medical Center he performed a fellowship in Corneal Disease and Refractive Surgery at Bethesda Eye Institute at St. Louis University, where he participated in research in refractive surgery. He joined Albany Eye Associates in 1993.
Dr. Kassoff now provides specialized care for patients who desire refractive surgery, as well as patient with complex problems of the external eye and cornea. Dr. Kassoff is an attending ophthalmologist at Albany Memorial Hospital, located in Albany, New York. He performs most of his surgeries, including refractive surgery, at Albany Regional Eye Surgery Center in Latham, New York. Dr. Kassoff has served as an elected member of the New York State Ophthalmological Society Board of Directors.
Dr. Kassoff is a member of the New York State Ophthalmologic Society and the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
Kristina Lynch-Guyette, M.D.
Dr. Kristina Lynch-Guyette has over 20 years of experience as a Board Certified Ophthalmologist and partner at Albany Eye Associates. She prides herself on giving thorough eye exams and offering the highest level of care and dedication to each patient. She works with both children and adults and manages a wide range of eye diseases from macular degeneration, glaucoma, and cataracts to diabetic retinopathy, dry eye, allergies, strabismus, and amblyopia. She believes that a thorough eye exam can reveal not only diseases of the vision system but also systemic illnesses such as diabetes and hypertension.
Dr. Lynch-Guyette is a member of both the New York State Ophthalmological Society and the American Academy of Ophthalmology. She graduated cum laude from Union College in 1991 and attended the University of Rochester where she received her medical degree in 1995. She then spent the next four years completing her internship in pediatrics as well as an ophthalmology residency at the University of Rochester.
Her passion for healthcare and helping others stems from her childhood, as both her grandmother and father worked in the healthcare field. Her father, a plastic surgeon, encouraged her to pursue her interest in medicine at a very young age. During medical school she discovered her fascination of the human eye and how it functions, and she decided to pursue a career in Ophthalmology.
Dr. Lynch-Guyette grew up in Niskayuna and attended Emma Willard where she graduated cum laude in 1987. Today she enjoys living in the Capital Region practicing ophthalmology, raising her family, and spending time in the Adirondacks.
Anna Allen, M.D. Ph.D.
Dr. Anna Allen is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist and an Ophthalmic Surgeon. She moved to the US in 1994 upon completion with Honors her undergraduate studies in Physiology at Kharkiv State University, Ukraine. She went on to further her education and completed a PhD degree at the University of Rochester before embarking on medical education at SUNY Downstate Medical Center. As a Alpha Omega Alpha graduate of SUNY Downstate Medical School she pursued further training in Ophthalmology at the Albany Medical Center. Upon completion of Ophthalmology residency she joined Albany Eye Associates where she enjoys helping both adult and pediatric patients achieve optimal eye health.
Dr. Allen treats a wide variety of eye conditions such as cataract, glaucoma, macular degeneration, dry eye, amblyopia, strabismus, ptosis, eyelid malposition, eye allergies and infections. She is an experienced cataract surgeon and is successful helping patients who desires premium intraocular lenses such as Toric, Multifocal and extended depth of field lenses. She has extensive experience managing glaucoma and utilizes medical, laser and minimally invasive glaucoma treatment such as iStent, Xen gel stent and ECP. Pediatric patients and strabismus treatment constitute a substantial part of her practice. She succeeds knowing that no single approach is right for every person. Depth of knowledge and attention to the patient needs are key to obtaining great results.
In addition to her private practice Dr. Allen is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at the Albany Medical Center Department of Ophthalmology where she teaches residents the latest diagnostic and therapeutic techniques. Dr. Allen was recognized for her excellence in teaching when residents presented her with the Golden Apple award in 2015. Newsweek ranked her among top 150 Ophthalmologists in the USA in 2021. She furthers her knowledge by participating in regional and national Ophthalmology conferences and has presented at the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Her research interests include Ophthalmic Surgical Education.
She performs surgeries primarily at Albany Regional Eye Surgery Center in Latham, however depending on the specifics of the case she can operate at Albany Medical Center, Specialty Eye Surgery & Laser Center and Samaritan Hospital.
Rahul Patel, M.D.
Dr. Patel is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist originally from Cleveland, Ohio. He completed medical school and received his M.D. degree at the Northeast Ohio Medical University in Kent, Ohio. Dr. Patel went on to complete his ophthalmology residency training at Case Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio. He subsequently furthered his expertise in ophthalmology by completing a one year cornea/refractive surgery fellowship at the Dean McGee Eye Institute/University of Oklahoma.
Dr. Patel prides himself in providing excellent medical and surgical care to his patients. In his clinical practice, Dr. Patel specializes in cataract surgery, refractive surgery (LASIK and Surface Ablation), endothelial keratoplasty, complicated anterior segment surgery, and glaucoma laser surgery. He is also proficient in refractive cataract surgery as well as a variety of intraocular lens implants, including toric and multifocal lens implants. As a comprehensive ophthalmologist, Dr. Patel manages a variety of eye conditions, including glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, dry eyes, eye infections, in-office minor lid procedures, and eye pain. He also performs routine eye exams. Dr. Patel is on staff at Albany Memorial Hospital and performs eye surgeries at Albany Memorial Hospital as well as the Albany Regional Eye Surgery Center. He is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Patel is married with 3 children – one son and 2 daughters. His wife, who is also a physician, completed her medical training at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan. Dr. Patel and his family are happy to reside in the Albany area. He enjoys traveling, exercising, and spending time with his wife and three young children.
Ashok Sehgal, M.D.
Dr. Ashok Sehgal is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist. He earned his MD degree at the Albany Medical College in Albany, NY. Dr. Sehgal then completed his Ophthalmology Residency training at the State University of New York at Buffalo, Buffalo, NY and furthered his training with a fellowship in retinal diseases from the University of Louisville School of Medicine, Louisville, KY. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the New York State Ophthalmological Society.
He is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He practices comprehensive Ophthalmology, managing a variety of eye diseases, including glaucoma, macular degeneration of the retina, diabetic retinopathy, cataracts, and eye infections. He also performs routine eye exams.
Victoria Epstein, D.O.
Dr. Epstein is a board-certified Ophthalmologist and surgeon providing general, medical and surgical eye care to adults and children. She diagnoses and treats a wide variety of eye problems including cataracts, glaucoma, double vision, optic nerve disorders, retinal problems including diabetic retinopathy, and macular degeneration. Dr. Epstein specializes in neuro-ophthalmology and performs cataract surgery utilizing latest technology intraocular lenses - including toric, multifocal and extended depth of focus lenses . In addition to routine eye examinations, surgeries and evaluations of floaters and dry eyes, she also performs laser procedures and cosmetic work- including eyelid surgery and medically necessary and cosmetic Botox injections.
Dr. Epstein earned her undergraduate degree in Chemistry from the University of Pennsylvania. She received her combined medical degree and master's degree in neuroscience from The New York College of Osteopathic Medicine graduating at the top of her class. She completed her residency in Ophthalmology at Albany Medical Center. Dr. Epstein received additional training in medical retina and neuro-ophthalmology.
Dr. Epstein has surgical privileges at Albany Regional Eye Surgery Center and Specialty Eye Surgery & Laser Center in Latham and Samaritan Hospital in Troy. She is an active member of American Academy of Ophthalmology and The American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
Lola Grillo, M.D.
Dr. Grillo is a board-certified ophthalmologist who specializes in cornea and external disease. She performs cataract and corneal surgeries in addition to general ophthalmology. Dr. Grillo graduated from Vassar College and received her medical degree from Columbia University’s College of Physicians and Surgeons. She completed residency at Nassau University Medical Center in Long Island, NY, and went on to complete a fellowship in cornea and external disease at Cornea Consultants/Albany Medical Center. A native of New Hampshire, she practiced in Manchester, NH at New Hampshire Eye Associates prior to returning to the Albany area.
Dr. Grillo is a member of several medical societies, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. She enjoys running, cycling, skiing, reading, and experimenting in vegetarian cooking.
Carly Goldberg, O.D., FAAO
Dr. Goldberg earned her Doctor of Optometry degree at the State of New York College of Optometry in 2010. She completed her residency in ocular disease and primary care at the VA Hudson Valley Healthcare system in 2011. Dr. Goldberg practices full scope optometry including diagnosing and treating diseases, routine care, and refraction and contact lens examinations.
She has experience that includes but is not limited to the evaluation and management of glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease as well as disorders of the anterior segment. Dr. Goldberg is a member of the American Academy of Optometry and the American Optometric Association. She also speaks Spanish.
Andrea Kassoff, O.D.
Dr. Andrea Kassoff earned her Doctor of Optometry degree at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 2021. While there, she was awarded several academic scholarships and was inducted into the Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society. She completed her residency in Cornea and Contact Lenses at the New England College of Optometry in 2022. This residency included clinical rotations through well-renowned sites such as BostonSight, Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, and Boston Medical Center.
Dr. Kassoff provides comprehensive primary eye care along with assessment and management of ocular conditions that include, but are not limited to, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, glaucoma, and anterior segment diseases such as ocular surface disease.
Her residency gave her extensive clinical training in fitting specialty contact lenses for severe dry eye disease, post-surgery, post-trauma, aphakia, and corneal diseases such as keratoconus. Dr. Kassoff has experience with soft contact lenses, including multifocals, rigid gas permeable contact lenses, and scleral contact lenses. She also performs routine contact lens fittings.
Dr. Kassoff is a member of the American Academy of Optometry and the American Optometric Association.
Aaron Kassoff, M.D.

Dr Aaron Kasoff started a practice that would become Albany Eye Associates in 1970 and retired from this practice after 50 years of service in 2020.
A native of New York City, Dr. Kassoff attended Cornell University and graduated medical school in Syracuse at Upstate Medical Center and trained in Ophthalmology at Albany Medical Center. He subsequently created the first Diabetic Eye Clinic at Albany Medical Center utilizing the first laser in the area. For most of his career Dr Kasoff participated in National Eye Institute clinical research on treatment of diabetic eye disease and age-related macular degeneration. Over the years Dr Aaron Kasoff helps thousands of patients to see and to enjoy life demonstrating unparalleled humanism and professional knowledge.
Patricia A. Eretto, M.D.
Dr. Eretto joined Albany Eye Associates in 1983. Dr Eretto treated children and adults of Capital Region for nearly forty years and retired in 2022. Dr. Eretto grew up in Staten Island, New York. She attended Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and then earned her M.D. degree at Albany Medical College where she also completed her Ophthalmology training. In addition to providing high quality eye care to local families, Dr. Eretto was actively involved during her career with American Academy of Ophthalmology projects that endeavored to design eye care programs to care for indigent patients. She chaired the AAO Indigent Care Committee, was a member of the National Eye Care Project Steering Committee , and was actively involved in the early design of EyeCare America.
