The COVID 19 pandemic has caused many changes but our dedication to your eye health is unchanged. We have resumed our normal working hours and we will see all medically necessary appointments at the present time. If you have a previously scheduled appointment our staff will contact you prior to your appointment day to notify you of any possible changes to your appointment.
When you arrive at Albany Eye Associates you will see some changes in our office. We made these changes to protect our patients, families and staff. Our office is following recommendations made by the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
- Will will check everyone's temperature and ask COVID-19 screening questions before you enter the office.
- Only patients and a parent accompanying a minor child or a disabled person are allowed in the office. To help with social distancing a driver or any other accompanying person should not come into the office but stay in the car or outside.
- To reduce risk of infection spread we require that all patients (age two and over) and staff wear face masks covering both your nose and mouth at all times.
- You will see that we have drastically reduced number of chairs in the waiting room and placed them at least six feet apart. Our waiting room no longer contains magazines, children’s toys and so forth, since those items are difficult to clean and disinfect.
- We reduced the number of appointments to allow for social distancing between patients and have reduced the number of patients in the office at one time. This may mean that you are offered fewer options for scheduling your appointment.
- We allow greater time between patients to allow for enhanced sanitizing of reception and treatment areas, as well as to allow for social distancing.
- We have added polycarbonate screens to all check-in and check-out stations.
- Eye testing equipment (slit lamps, phoropters, OCT machines) are equipped with breath shields.
- We have placed medical grade HEPA filters in the ventilation system to provide the safest possible environment.
- If you have any questions about your upcoming visit please give us a call.
We look forward to seeing you and your family again soon.
Sincerely,
Albany Eye Associates
